The marketing
concept for this successful chain of women’s
shoes and accessories is to present the merchandise as part of a
well-ordered dressing room. The ability to economically and efficiently
produce a consistent design led us to develop details that permit
large sections of each store to be fabricated off-site, shipped and
assembled without relying only on local suppliers and allowing the
production to proceed outside the normal building sequence. The vaulted
wood ceiling, a signature of the chain, is an example of such a detail.
It is made of pre-finished plywood panels bent into gentle curves
on-site, with cables and turn buckles where it rests on steel seat
channels. |
