Grunewald is a residential part of the city of Berlin. The plots are small with neighbors nearby on all sides. By framing the yard with trellised fences and covered walks, we created complete privacy so that the views from the house are of the gardens that become a series of exterior rooms. Dirtworks, the landscape architecture firm, was retained to realize this idea. The house is essentially a renovation and expansion of a much smaller one from the 1930's.
